Blog-tracking

I have a computer question, at the risk of sounding ridiculous.   I have to ask all yall, because this is a "secret" blog IRL, so I can't ask those that I normally would.   I googled it, but didn't find what I would consider "reliable" websites.

Mel over at Stirrup Queens has a HILARIOUS post about tracking how people find her blog.

How does one go about doing this?

Thanks much for any help!

  1. Google Analytics is a program through Google, that you can use to see all your site stats.
You'll have to plug in your sites web address and then from there, just check back.
There are additional sites online if you Google website traffic tracker but the Google one is good for basic use.

  2. I use Google Analytics, too. It takes some time for it to go through, so you may want to wait 24 hours or so after you set it up to check it. You can google it (I know, sounds ridiculous) and it will walk you through set up and everything!

    Hugs to you,
    Jo

  3. I use Statcounter.com. It does all the tracking, plus will let you know about the searches. You install it just like one of the things on your sidebar (use the widget to install html code, and you get the code from statcounter, once you register). It's free and easy. It's older than google analytics, but a good program. I want to check out google analytics, too.
