Silver Lining

Tonight, I am going to a show. Not a Broadway show, but a small venue rock concert of one of my favorite bands. It's not a mainstream name, but they have been around (at least on my radar) for the last 10 years or so. I won't give their name for fear of being found out.

And tomorrow is New Moon!! (The new Twilight movie for those that don't know...) I'm one of THOSE people. I love the books. I've read them 6 times. I should qualify that I am a Reader. I'd rather read than watch TV, and I have several books that I can read over and over again and they comfort me. The Twilight series are a few of those books. I was embarrassed to admit that I had read them for about a year, but I've gotten over it. :)

I am super excited, and it makes me feel a little better that I wouldn't be doing either of these if I didn't have kids. Ha! One point for the infertile!

  1. I'm super excited for New Moon! A few of my friends & my Mom are going on Monday. I would go Friday but I can't stand opening night crowds. let me know how you like it!

  2. I will certainly let you know! I went with a couple of friends to the opening night of Twilight and it was AWESOME (in a crazy way). Seriously, we were one of two groups there over the age of 20 in the room that weren't there with their children. We made friends with the other older women, and sat with them during the film.

The girls out-right shrieked when Edward hit the screen for his first 3 appearances. There were girls there in hand-designed puffy paint shirts, it was so cute! It was so much fun, we're doing it again.

  3. Have a great time at New Moon and the rock concert. Sounds like a fantastic start to the weekend. Make sure you shriek at Edward for me ;) (it could be some time before my Twilight buddy is well enough to make it to the cinema)

  4. Did you read The Host? Very different from the Twilight series, but still very good. (Though it takes a bit to get into it because of the set up of the story.)

  5. Just me - I did read the Host, I thought it was a pretty good story. I read most anything (usually prefer fiction, though). I'm always looking for a good book, so let me know if you have any other suggestions!
